Project Qgo

Qgo is the first project of Quasmo. Qgo is a real 3D controller and especially well suited for 3D applications, like Google Earth, 3D menu navigation or video games. Qgo is not yet an industrialized product. In fact, Quasmo is looking for partner companies with whom Qgo could become a successful product.

Every physical body is exactly defined by six parameters in its position and orientation. Three of these six parameters are the coordinates along the x, y and z-axis. The second three parameters are the rotation angles around the three axes. The innovation of Qgo is that it knows at every moment of time its absolute position and orientation in the three-dimensional space. This information about position and orientation of Qgo can be used as input data in order to control applications on the TV, the computer or in industrial environments. From the point of view of the user, it means that he can move Qgo in every possible way to generate control signals. If the user wants to move a virtual avatar, he just has to move Qgo in the desired direction. For turning the avatar or the camera, the user turns Qgo along the correct axis. This principle allows a very intuitive, easy and precise control of every 3D application.
